Compare the job, not just the starting figure
A detection-only visit, a combined plumbing repair and a restoration project are different instructions. A useful comparison asks what happens after the source is identified: who opens the surface, who repairs the pipe and who checks the work. Clarify tax, materials and reporting as well as the headline price.
How the Exact Source package is structured
The agreed residential package is £1,400 including applicable tax. It includes investigation, specialist detection and tracing, required access or excavation, plumbing repair, parts, materials, suitable testing and a Trace & Access report. The plumbing repair carries a 12-month workmanship warranty. A £100 booking deposit is credited towards the total, leaving £1,300.
Budget for the finish as a separate stage
Floor coverings, plaster, paint, tiles, paving and other decorative or remedial reinstatement are excluded. Drying and unrelated building work are also outside the plumbing package. Ask what will remain after access so you can plan the appropriate follow-on work. Commercial instructions are quoted separately.
Agree the scope before paying a deposit
The property, reported problem and appointment are confirmed first. There is no additional hourly charge simply because the agreed residential work takes longer. Different or additional work should not be assumed to fall within the original instruction.
